Khabane "Khaby" Lame is an Senegalese/Italian social media personality. He is known for his life hack debunking videos, for which he has quickly amassed a large following. He started actively posting content on the video-sharing platform TikTok in early 2020, after losing his job during the first pandemic. He is as of now, the 4th most followed person on Tiktok. However, it is projected that by the end of 2021 he will be the person with the most followers. This is in addition to his 20 million followers on Instagram!
Using the social media app’s duet and stitch features, Khaby Lame, a former factory worker, capitalized on the momentum of viral and often absurdly complicated life hack videos — slicing open a banana with a knife, using odd contraptions to put on socks, opening coca-cola bottles, charging phone batteries — by responding to them with wordless, easy-to-understand reaction clips in which he would do the same task in a much more straightforward manner.
