This year’s Afropolitan Festival – An Uprising of Dreams invites you to a multidisciplinary artistic and political reflection around the theme ‘dream and action’. Four days of artistic events to deconstruct the prevailing rationalism in our society. The Afropolitan Festival’s many artists, thinkers and performers will use their power of voice to ask the following questions: do we still dare to dream? Who has the right to dream? Will we take back our dreams as a creative force and a space for rest? Or as a reason for action? An Uprising of Dreams calls to collectively contribute to reclaiming dreams as an important moment of liberation and resistance, to ultimately build and invent new worlds.

Cette année, Afropolitan Festival – An Uprising of Dreams invite à une réflexion artistique et politique multidisciplinaire autour du thème « rêve et action ». Quatre jours d’événements artistiques pour déconstruire le rationalisme dominant de notre société. Les nombreux artistes, penseurs et performeurs du festival Afropolitan utiliseront le pouvoir de leur voix pour poser les questions suivantes : osons-nous encore rêver ? Qui a le droit de rêver ? Allons-nous nous réapproprier nos rêves en tant que force créatrice ? Offrent-ils un espace de repos, ou justement une raison d’agir ? An Uprising of Dreams appelle à contribuer collectivement à la réappropriation des rêves en tant que moment important de libération et de résistance, pour finalement construire et inventer de nouveaux mondes.

Dit jaar nodigt het Afropolitan Festival – An Uprising of Dreams je uit tot een multidisciplinaire artistieke en politieke reflectie rond het thema ‘droom en actie’. Vier dagen vol artistieke gebeurtenissen om het heersende rationalisme in onze samenleving te deconstrueren. De vele kunstenaars, denkers en performers van het Afropolitan Festival zullen hun stemkracht gebruiken om volgende vragen te stellen: durven we nog te dromen? Wie heeft het recht om te dromen? Zullen we onze dromen terugnemen als creatieve kracht en als ruimte voor rust? Of net als reden voor actie? An Uprising of Dreams roept op om collectief bij te dragen aan het terugwinnen van dromen als een belangrijk moment van bevrijding en verzet, om uiteindelijk nieuwe werelden te bouwen en bedenken.
