Calling the South African ensemble Ladysmith Black Mambazo a choir does not do justice to their status – they are a cultural institution. The group was founded in 1960 and rose to fame in their home country during the seventies, becoming so successful that they were no longer allowed to compete in talent shows because they kept winning. Their major international breakthrough came in 1986, when Paul Simon enlisted Ladysmith Black Mambazo for his now-legendary album Graceland. Since then, the group has toured the world with a message that feels more urgent than ever: Peace, Love and Harmony!
