Zimbabwe human rights lawyer, Brian Kagoro say the west must get serious and start to pay reparations for the trauma they brought to the people of Africa and the Caribbean as a result of the transatlantic slave trade. Brian Kagoro, chairperson of the Open Society Foundation in Africa says Switzerland has continued to be rated by international agencies as one of the least corrupt nations of the world even though it keeps providing safe havens for stolen monies like the Abacha money looted from Nigeria.
Brian Kagoro was chairing a debate on reparations during the 16th general assembly of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa, CODESRIA, in Dakar, Senegal.
