SUMMARY:Roufaida | BIRD
DESCRIPTION:Years ago she was pouring your drink at the BIRD bar. Now she’s serving a fearless\, boundary-pushing sound. Roufaida\, a BIRDIE\, now one of the most exciting names in alternative pop – returns to where it all began: BIRD Rotterdam. \nRoufaida moves effortlessly between poetry and activism\, between deep-rooted tradition and a razor-sharp future. Her North African heritage\, Arab poetry and life between different worlds all flow into alternative pop that refuses to fit any box. \nExpect unconventional melodies\, layered lyrics and a performance that looks you straight in the eye. Think the boldness of Rosalía\, the imagination of Björk and the serenity of Arooj Aftab\, all filtered through a distinct Dutch-Moroccan lens. \nWith her Roufaida EP she lit up 2023. Tracks like Don’t Bend\, driven by the hypnotic sound of the Moroccan guembri\, and Kalimat\, inspired by poet Nizar Qabbani\, took her to stages across the Benelux\, Germany and Morocco. Festivals like Down The Rabbit Hole\, Into The Great Wide Open and ESNS/Noorderslag followed\, as well as support shows for Xavier Rudd\, Balthazar\, Melody Gardot and Eefje de Visser. \nThe press caught on quickly: De Volkskrant called her “a true discovery”\, NRC praised her unique blend of North African influences and alternative pop\, and Humo crowned Don’t Bend “the coolest groove of the year”. Two Edison nominations topped it off. \nAnd now\, on 02 April 2026\, she’s live at BIRD Rotterdam. Home. Roufaida returns to the nest as an artist who dissolves borders and connects worlds. An intimate\, intense show for everyone who craves forward-thinking alternative pop\, North African influences and powerful stories in the heart of Rotterdam. \nThis night is a collaboration between BIRD\, Rotterdam and Motel Mozaïque (MoMo).

SUMMARY:NIJI | BIRD
DESCRIPTION:NIJI at BIRD – 22 February 2026\nRemember that summer when Rotterdam was on fire during North Sea Jazz? One of the names that absolutely tore it up at Ahoy was NIJI. The man behind the keys who slides effortlessly between jazz\, hip-hop\, gospel and Afrobeat and somehow gets everyone moving like the night will never end. \nAnd guess what: on 22 February 2026 he’s bringing that same fire to BIRD. \nNIJI is one of those artists you just can’t box in. Born and raised in East London\, shaped in church halls and jazz clubs\, then crossing the Atlantic to New York where he even held down the gig as organist for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden (yes\, really). But no matter how big the stage\, his music feels just as electric in a room where you can see his hands dance across the keys up close. \nHis latest track A13 Fuji is the perfect teaser: Nigerian roots\, heavy grooves and pure jazz chops. But live? That’s when it truly takes off. Expect energy\, soul\, and that unmistakable NIJI sound\, familiar and fresh all at once. \nFor fans of Fela Kuti\, Burna Boy\, Bien\, Kokoroko\, Ezra Collective \n🗓 Saturday 22 February\n📍 BIRD\, Rotterdam\n🎟 https://bird-rotterdam.nl/en/event/niji-22-02-26/

SUMMARY:Ondara | BIRD
DESCRIPTION:Ondara live @ BIRD | woensdag 11 februari 2026 \nThere’s something deeply human in Ondara’s music\, a kind of raw storytelling that lives somewhere between folk\, soul\, and poetry. Born in Nairobi and now based in the US\, Ondara crafts songs that feel both intimate and epic: stories of migration\, identity\, and the endless search for belonging. His voice is fragile\, pure\, and arresting and can silence a room. \nAt BIRD\, Ondara brings a new chapter of his journey: The Jet Stone Conspiracy. With this band\, he breaks open the boundaries of his earlier work (Tales of America\, Tales of Isolation\, Spanish Villager No: 3) and reimagines them in full-band form for the first time. Expect songs that swell and breathe folk turned cinematic\, lyrical turned electric. \nIt’s not just a concert. It’s a meeting point where personal stories meet shared rhythm\, where a songwriter’s quiet revolution meets Rotterdam’s warm chaos. Under the tracks\, in our home of soul and sound\, Ondara’s new music will find its way into yours. \nFor fans Of: Frazey Ford\, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats\, Hozier\, Nick Mulvey\, Ben Howard \nBIRD\, Rotterdam. Where stories become songs\, and songs become community. \n🗓 Wednesday 11 February\n📍 BIRD\, Rotterdam\n🎟https://bird-rotterdam.nl/en/event/ondara-11-02-26/
