SUMMARY:Guided tour in the Africa Museum
DESCRIPTION:Come and join a nice group of expats for a guided tour in the exquisite collection of the Africa Museum. I booked us a wonderful\, experienced and very knowledgeable guide who will show us around. \nAfter the event we can have a drink together to talk about our impressions and thoughts. Obviously this second part is optional so don’t worry about it if you are not able to join us. \nHere is a little bit of what they write about the museum on the website: “The origin of the Africa Museum dates back to the Brussels International Exposition of 1897. At King Leopold II’s behest\, The ‘Colonial Section’ of the exhibition was moved to the ‘Colonial Palace’ in Tervuren. Leopold II saw the museum as a propaganda tool for his colonial project\, aimed at attracting investors and winning over the Belgian population. It was in 1898 that the temporary exhibition became the first permanent museum of the Congo. The institute has always served the dual purpose of a museum and scientific institute.” \nPrice: 29€ (this price includes the entrance ticket; only 17€ with the Museum Pass!!) \nKindly remember to sign up via the Art for Everyone website. Only doing so here is NOT enough! Thank you for understanding. \nwww.artforeveryone.be/book-online
