SUMMARY:Africadelic Festival 2020 (online edition!)
DESCRIPTION:Due to the current COVID-19 measures\, we organize the Africadelic Festival completely online this year! Our annual celebration of International Africa Day on 25 May will be a 12 hours digital festival (from 12pm to 12am). We do this through a live streaming event (via the Instagram account of Paradiso Amsterdam) with performances and talks by African artists from both the continent and the diaspora\, from their home\, studio or another venue in their neighborhood!  \nAt the same time our co-host Afrispectives will have interactive talks with creatives from African descent via their Instagram account and other platforms. Africadelic is an ode to the motherland\, its cultural richness and diversity\, and the influence that Africans have on global (popular) culture. The programme focuses on (live) music\, visual arts\, dance\, film\, performances and DJ sets. \nIn addition\, Africadelic always take a critical look at the world and the continent in the form of interactive talks and interviews. Artists and activists come and discuss various social issues that are at play in Africa and the African diaspora.
