DESCRIPTION:Op vrijdag 16 januari viert Marmoucha Orchestra\, samen met Aziz Ozouss\, Izedine Al Hoceima & Badr Ouabi Amazigh Nieuwjaar (Yennayer 2976) in het Muziekgebouw Amsterdam. Deze feestelijke periode vormt het decor voor een geweldige avond waarin de rijke en veelzijdige cultuur van de Imazighen – de oorspronkelijke bewoners van Noord-Afrika – centraal staat. \nAziz Ozouss & Marmoucha Orchestra: een magische ontmoeting \nWanneer Aziz Ozouss en het Marmoucha Orchestra samenkomen\, ontstaat er iets bijzonders. Vanuit zijn geboortegrond Biougra\, in het zuiden van Marokko\, brengt Ozouss de muziek en poëzie van de Amazigh-traditie mee: de Ribab\, de ritmes en melodieën die je tussen dorpen en bergen vindt. Het Marmoucha Orchestra ontvangt deze klanken en vormt ze met liefde en respect voor de traditie om tot nieuwe muzikale landschappen. Hun samenspel voelt als een gesprek tussen oud en nieuw\, tussen herinnering en vernieuwing. Het resultaat is een herkenbaar maar een steeds verrassend geluid dat tradities eert en tegelijk nieuwe wegen opent. \nTer ere van Yennayer 2976\, het Amazigh Nieuwjaar\, nemen Aziz Ozouss en het Marmoucha Orchestra het publiek mee op een reis door Zuid-Marokko\, vol ritme\, emotie en vrijheid. \nIzedine Al Hoceima – Rif \nIzedine Al Hoceima\, ook bekend als Izzedine El Hoceima\, komt uit Al Hoceima in de Rif. Hij brengt izran\, een traditionele vorm van Riffijnse poëzie en zang\, tot leven. In zijn muziek staan emoties en verhalen uit het dagelijks leven centraal. Tijdens zijn optredens wordt Izedine begeleid door enkele muzikanten van het Marmoucha Orchestra\, waardoor de izran meer kracht wordt bijgezet. \nDit optreden betekent zijn eerste reis naar Europa\, waar hij met enthousiasme zijn muziek zal delen met de Amazigh-diaspora en nieuwe luisteraars die de rijke tradities van de Rif willen leren kennen. \nBadr Ouabi – Atlas-regio (afsluiter van de concerten) \nBadr Ouabi is een Marokkaanse zanger uit de Atlas-regio\, bekend om zijn meesterlijke beheersing van de traditionele muziek uit de Atlas en zijn energieke optredens. Hij wordt beschouwd als een van de grootste talenten van Marokko. \nVoor dit debuut in Nederland wordt hij begeleid door enkele muzikanten van het Marmoucha Orchestra. Badr vormt de afsluiter van deze concertreeks en biedt het publiek een indrukwekkende live-ervaring\, waarin de rijke muzikale tradities van de Atlas volledig tot hun recht komen. \nAfterparty – DJ MOUNMONEY \nNa de concerten neemt DJ MOUNMONEY het publiek mee in de foyer van het Muziekgebouw. Als actrice én DJ combineert ze urban\, afro en clubmuziek met invloeden uit diverse culturen en haar eigen verhaal. This festive moment forms the backdrop for an evening that highlights the rich and diverse culture of the Imazighen – the Indigenous people of North Africa. \nAziz Ozouss & Marmoucha Orchestra – A magical encounter \nWhen Aziz Ozouss and the Marmoucha Orchestra come together\, something special happens. Born in Biougra in southern Morocco\, Ozouss brings with him the music and poetry of the Amazigh tradition: the ribab\, the rhythms and the melodies found between villages and mountains. The Marmoucha Orchestra embraces these sounds and\, with great care and respect for their origins\, shapes them into new musical landscapes. Their collaboration feels like a dialogue between past and present\, between memory and renewal. The result is a sound that is both familiar and surprising\, honouring tradition while creating space for new directions. \nIn celebration of Yennayer 2976\, the Amazigh New Year\, Aziz Ozouss and the Marmoucha Orchestra take the audience on a journey through southern Morocco\, full of rhythm\, emotion and freedom. \nIzedine Al Hoceima – Rif \nIzedine Al Hoceima\, also known as Izzedine El Hoceima\, comes from the city of Al Hoceima in the Rif. He brings izran\, a traditional form of Riffian poetry and song\, vividly to life. His music centres on emotions and stories drawn from everyday experience. During his performances\, Izedine is accompanied by several musicians from the Marmoucha Orchestra\, adding depth and intensity to the izran. \nThis concert marks his first visit to Europe\, where he will share his music with the Amazigh diaspora and with new listeners eager to discover the rich traditions of the Rif. \nBadr Ouabi – Atlas region (concert finale) \nBadr Ouabi is a Moroccan singer from the Atlas region\, renowned for his masterful command of traditional Atlas music and his vibrant stage presence. He is regarded as one of Morocco’s most promising talents. \nFor his debut in the Netherlands\, he is joined by musicians from the Marmoucha Orchestra. As the evening’s finale\, Badr offers an impressive live performance in which the musical traditions of the Atlas come fully into their own. \nAfterparty – DJ MOUNMONEY \nAfter the concerts\, DJ MOUNMONEY invites the audience into the Muziekgebouw’s foyer. As both an actress and DJ\, she blends urban\, afro and club music with influences from various cultures and her own personal story.
