Together\, they present a bold lineup of DJs and live artists\, in collaboration with Reset. \nHow to bring together two vastly different sonic universes without losing their essence?\nMalian kora master Ballaké Sissoko and Italian composer Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch have very much succeeded in fusing their two worlds: kora music and electronic soundscapes. The two musicians go in search of common roots\, seeing the West African string instrument as seed and electronics as sunlight. Bianchi Hoesch live records the acoustic kora and envelops it with layers of electronics.  \nFar from being opposites\, the two musical worlds merge into a meditative yet compelling performance. A sound collab that fits perfectly within the Belgian-Dutch music label Rebel Up!\, co-organisers of the evening. \nKora Days is a collaboration with Muziekpublique and Reset. DESCRIPTION:𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼 & 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 ⟶ bozar.link/ToumaniDiabateatBozar  \nToumani Diabaté is the great ambassador of the kora in the world. Since 1987\, the Malian musician has released sublime solo albums and collaborated with Björk\, Ali Farka Touré and Damon Albarn.  \nIn 2008\, he showcased his virtuoso yet sensitive playing with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Clark Rundell in a concert at the Barbican Centre in London. The recording of this concert was released in 2021 under the title Kôrôlen (‘ancestral’ in Bambara) and received critical acclaim.  \nToumani Diabaté and the Orchestre National de Lyon\, conducted by Clark Rundell\, will perform this programme again at Bozar.  \nIt’s an opportunity to bring together the Mandingo and European classical traditions and to recall\, as Diabaté points out\, that “Beethoven’s music is only 250 years old\, whereas Mandingo classical music has existed since the 13th century.” \nToumani Diabate\, kora\nClark Rundell\, conductor\nOrchestre National de Lyon
