This night KUSH Collective from Sudan and Samira’s Blues from Morocco will meet and connect through traditional North African Gnawa music. \nSamira’s Blues\nSamira’s Blues brings North African spirituals and originals with Arabic\, Berber and African roots\, under the inspiring leadership of singer and songwriter Samira Dainan. SUMMARY:Club Doelen: 3MA | Ballaké Sissoko\, Driss El Maloumi & Rajery
DESCRIPTION:Het trio 3MA is een muzikale driesprong waarop het uiterste oosten van Afrika\, het hoge noorden en het westen elkaar treffen. Hun poëtische muziek bevat warmte\, een boodschap van vriendschap en vrede\, maar zit ook vol passie\, ritme en wonderschone versieringen. \nDe Malagassiër Rajery (“the Prince of Valiha”)\, de Marokkaan Driss El Maloumi en de Malinees Ballaké Sissoko bespelen alle drie een snaarinstrument uit de levendige muziektradities van hun land. \nRajery speelt valiha\, het nationale instrument van Madagaskar: een besnaarde bamboe buis die ook wel de harp van Oost-Afrika genoemd wordt. \nDriss El Maloumi (die onder meer met Paolo Fresu en Jordi Saval speelde) is een van de meesters van de Mahgreb en het Midden-Oosten op de melancholische oud. Het instrument van Ballaké Sissoko (bekend van zijn samenwerkingen met o.a. Ludovico Einaudi en Boubacar Traoré) is de kora\, een twaalfsnarige harpluit gemaakt van een kalebas\, waar de Malinese griotten al eeuwenlang hun traditionele en poëtische muziek op maken. \nDe drie muzikanten kwamen elkaar tegen op een muziekfestival in Agadir\, Marokko\, en het vonkte tussen hen. Samen besloten ze een muziektaal te ontwikkelen waarbij de melodieën en harmonieën uit hun landen elkaar aftasten\, versterken en omarmen. En dat levert iets unieks op.
