DESCRIPTION:Fondé dans les années 70 par les célèbres Tinariwen\, le courant « Ishumar »\, musique touarègue de résistance a désormais pour ambassadeur le groupe Tamikrest. Formé entre Mali\, Niger\, Algérie et France\, Tamikrest revendique avec force son identité Touarègue au cours de ses 5 albums. Riche et hybride\, leur blues rock du désert emprunte à d’autres influences comme à la funk\, avec ses lignes de basses autant qu’aux culture voisines. Résolument aventureuse et engagée\, leur musique nous conte la crise politique et climatique dans laquelle est plongée leur région ou bien encore le courage des femmes touarègues. Une musique qui explore tous les sons notamment sur leur dernier album sur lequel ont collaboré la célèbre chanteuse marocaine Hindi Zahra ou bien encore un groupe traditionnel japonais. SUMMARY:Ndlovu Youth Choir // Doornroosje Nijmegen (verplaatst van 17 juli)
DESCRIPTION:Het in 2009 opgerichte jongerenkoor Ndlovu Youth Choir begon als een naschools programma maar vergaarde in 2019 internationale bekendheid door hun deelname aan America’s Got Talent. \nDaar verloren ze op het nippertje de finale maar gaf zeker een boost in hun carrière. Met hun prachtige samenzang en creatieve uitvoeringen van populaire liedjes gooit het Ndlovu Youth Choir hoge ogen. De Zuid Afrikanen combineren moeiteloos traditionele Zuid-Afrikaanse genres met stijlen als pop\, rock\, jazz en EDM wat tot uiterst dansbare covers heeft geleid. Nummers als Higher Love van Kygo\, Shape of You van Ed Sheeran\, Whitney Houstons Higher Love en Africa van Toto krijgen een remake waar je U tegen zegt. Inmiddels brachten ze drie albums uit en zien wij geen enkele reden meer om het koor niet uit te nodigen voor een feestje in Stevenskerk.
