DESCRIPTION:◊ Dino D’Santiago\n◊ Aanstekelijke Afro-electronica met Kaapverdische roots\n▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬\n◊ Info & Tickets: https://abconcerts.be/en/agenda/dino-dsantiago/a10Qw00000CRKyEIAX\n▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬\nDino D’Santiago is een Portugese zanger van Kaapverdische afkomst\, bekend als\nvoorvechter van de nieuwe golf Afro-electronica uit Lissabon en een vaste waarde in de Portugese hiphop- en r&b-scene. \nGeïnspireerd door zijn roots in Santiago verweeft Dino traditionele Kaapverdische muziek met nieuwe genres tot zijn kenmerkend geluid – te horen op albums als Eva en het veelgeprezen Mundu Nôbu. D’Santiago verzoent de traditionele morna\, batuku en funaná met elektronische muziek en creëert zo een verfrissende en tijdloze sound waarmee hij Portugal stormenderhand veroverde. \nIn 2019 viel hij tijdens de Portugese Music Awards in de prijzen voor Beste Solo-artiest\, Beste Album en de Kritieksprijs. In 2021 won hij Beste Mannelijke Artiest\, Beste Album met Kriola en de Kritieksprijs. Ook internationale media zoals Rolling Stone\, Complex en Folha de S. Paulo prezen hem als een van de meest creatieve artiesten in de muziekscene van Lissabon. \nIn 2021 werd D’Santiago vader en dat inspireerde hem om tijdens de pandemie Badiu uit te brengen\, een ode aan zijn nieuwe leven als ouder en een briljante aanvulling op voorganger Kriola. Badiu is een community-gericht muziekproject\, verpakt in de traditionele Kaapverdische batuku: cathartisch\, rauw en zwart. Het zet de nieuwe generatie\nKaapverdiërs aan om zich te verzoenen met hun Afrikaanse erfgoed en om die rijkdom te claimen. \nD’Santiago brengt een levendige verzameling Creoolse verhalen van rond de Atlantische Oceaan\, met muziek als het enige vreugdevolle toevluchtsoord.
