The film explores how Kuduro\, which blends traditional Angolan rhythms with electronic house and techno beats\, emerged from the discos and raves of downtown Luanda during the final decade of Angola’s civil war and rapidly spread throughout the country\, across the African continent\, and eventually around the world. \nThe documentary features prominent figures in the Kuduro scene\, including Tony Amado\, known as the ‘Godfather of Kuduro\,’ as well as artists like Sebém\, Bruno de Castro\, Nagrelha\, Titica\, and Cabo Snoop. Through their stories and performances\, the film showcases how Kuduro has become a source of inspiration for a generation of Angolan and African youth\, offering a means of expression and cultural identity. \n𝗜 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗞𝘂𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗼 serves as both a celebration of Kuduro’s infectious energy and a testament to its role in shaping contemporary Angolan culture. The film has been recognized for its dynamic portrayal of this cultural phenomenon\, earning accolades such as the Audience Award at the Inquietudo Film Festival in Austria and Best Photography in Documentary Film at the Cineport – Portuguese Speaking Countries’ Film Festival in Brazil. \n𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗮: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝘂𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗼\nNoite e Dia is a prominent Angolan singer celebrated for her emotive vocals and dynamic performances. Her music blends traditional Angolan rhythms with contemporary styles\, resonating with audiences across Africa. Tracks like Fui Mbora\, Raiva\, and Kapota showcase her ability to infuse heartfelt storytelling into danceable beats. Her 2020 album Acredita further solidified her status in the music industry. \n𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗝 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲: 𝗣𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗼-𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲\nHailing from Luanda\, Angola\, DJ Satélite is a trailblazer in African electronic music\, particularly in Afro-house and Kuduro. As the founder of Seres Produções\, he has been instrumental in promoting Angolan talent and sounds globally. His recent collaboration with DJ Gálio on the album Raízes pays homage to Angolan musical heritage\, blending electronic elements with traditional rhythms. DJ Satélite’s work has been featured in the documentary I Love Kuduro. \n𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰\nAfricadelic is a non-profit organization that\, since 2016\, is committed to the programming and promotion of African and African diasporic cultural creativity\, diversity and activism in the Netherlands. Each year\, on and around International Africa Day (May 25)\, they organize the Africacadelic Festival in Paradiso and various other partner venues across Amsterdam\, including Eye Filmmuseum. This year\, the 10th edition of the festival was held from May 21-31\, 2025\, with a special focus on the 50th anniversary of ‘in’dependence (1975) of five African countries (Angola\, Mozambique\, Cape Verde\, São Tomé & Príncipe\, and the Comoros) as well as Suriname.
